Last week we had dinner at Restaurant Jacobz with Koen and Erica. Ever since the restaurant opened a couple of years ago, I heard and read very positive things about Jacobsz, so when Erica suggested having dinner there, I couldn’t wait.

After ‘t Amsterdammertje*, the second installment of my Christmas present was at Restaurant 212 in Amsterdam.
Another business trip to Sweden, so another opportunity to seek out Nordic cuisine in Stockholm!
The kids had their way on our last day in Portland, so we had a “Wie is the Mol?” day…
Our third day in Portland was mainly spent with a mini road trip along the Columbia River and “around” Mt. Hood, concluded with some good old tax-free outlet shopping…

Our next main stops were in Oregon, but it was too much to drive there from Napa Valley in one go, so we had decided on Anderson to spend the night.
I compiled this post with very mixed feelings. It recollects the fabulous time we had in Napa Valley just a couple of months ago, but my thoughts were first and foremost with those affected by the devastating wildfires that are sweeping through Sonoma and Napa counties, resulting in many casualties – they are deadliest in the history of California – destroyed homes and vineyards…
